HILL COUNTRY LAND WORKS LLC
We Don't Just Clear Land. We Make It Work.
Tired of cedar, mesquite, and brush taking over your place? We're Hill Country Land Works LLC - Selma, Texas born and built for the hard stuff.
With 25 years combined experience running iron in Texas dirt, we know what it takes to turn raw, overgrown land into something you can actually use.
WE DO IT ALL - ONE CREW, ONE CALL:
We reclaim ranches with one skid, done right.
Forestry Mulching & Cedar Clearing - Clear 3-50 acres of cedar, brush, and understory. No burning, mulch stays to prevent erosion. Reclaim pasture, cut fence lines, fire breaks.
Water Line Trenching - Clean, straight trenches for domestic water lines. We call 811, dig to spec, leave it ready for pipe.
Ranch Roads - From dirt to driveable. Crowned to shed water, ditched on both sides, culverts <24" where needed. Moisture conditioned + compacted so it doesn't rut.
Building Pads - Barn, shop, house pads leveled, graded to drain away, packed tight. No ponding, no sinking.
Grading - Fix washouts, gullies, and standing water. Light pasture grading to get water moving.
Ranch Drainage - Bar ditches, French drains, diversion berms, dry creek beds. We move water away from what matters. Private ranch land only, no city tie-ins.
Soil Conditioning - Harley rake to pulverize, level, and prep for seed after clearing.
Moisture Conditioning & Compaction - We add water to perfect moisture, then pack it like TXDOT. So your road holds and your culvert stays put.
Every other skid guy does this: push dirt around, make it look flat, get paid, leave. It's soft. It's fluffy. First 2-inch Hill Country downpour hits it - road ruts 8 inches deep, ditch washes out, culvert sinks 6 inches, barn pad turns into a pond.
You call them back? No answer.
We build it to hold for Texas storms.
Step 1: Grade for FLOW
We walk your ranch and think about water first. Where is water coming from? Where do you want it to go? We crown roads so water sheds, we cut bar ditches so water has somewhere to go, we build diversion berms to push water away from your barn and shop. We grade pads to drain AWAY from buildings, not toward them.
Step 2: Moisture Condition
Dirt has a perfect moisture - not too dry, not too wet. Too dry and it won't pack. Too wet and it's mud. We add water with a water truck and work it in until it hits perfect. Like baking - right moisture makes it pack like a brick.
Step 3: Compact Like TXDOT
We pack it with tracks and compaction. Tight. Dense. So tight your truck doesn't rut it. So tight your culvert doesn't sink. So tight your ditch holds its shape next storm.
That's why our ranch roads hold. That's why our building pads don't sink. That's why our culverts stay put.
Built for Hill Country. Not fluffy.
